Adventures of Breffast and Hunter, Part 1

This is a tale of daring, a tale of fantasy, and a tale of heroism. This is the Adventure of Breffast the Pig and Hunter the Deer.

The Adventures of Breffast and Hunter

One afternoon, a sister and brother were traveling the local market and happened upon a small art gallery. Among the interesting and bizarre photography, they found a small cedar box. The sister opened the cedar box, and inside she found nine divisions; five of which were inhabited by minuscule animal carvings: a trout, a giraffe, a deer, a snake, and a pig.

They were very reasonably priced, so the sister insisted on purchasing one for herself and her brother. She, as the one paying, chose first. The sister selected the deer, because she had always felt a special connection with them.

After some thought, the brother chose the pig, certain it would posses magical qualities, like those of another pig in some cartoon. The brother named his pig Breffast, a slur for the early meal which might include delicious bacon. When the sister could not name her deer, the brother named it Hunter, for the sake of irony.

Hunter and Breffast joined the siblings for lunch, but later went their separate ways. Hunter bought French mint truffles, and a sugar cookie that was shaped like a flower. Breffast purchased a pint of peanut butter ice cream and a ten-dollar typewriter when they went antiquing.

It was a lovely day.
